Soumaya Museum

The Soumaya Plaza Carso Museum has a museographic discourse distributed over six floors:

The first floor exhibits gold and silver pieces. For the first time, the most important collection of colonial coins in Mexico will be shown.

Ceramic, shell and stone pieces of Mesoamerican art are exhibited on the second floor. The exhibition is a loan with the INAH and is made up of pieces from the West (Nayarit, Colima, Jalisco and Guanajuato).

The third is dedicated to the old European masters and masters from New Spain.

The landscape is the theme of the fourth floor, with works by traveling artists. It offers a journey through independent Mexico, reconstructed from pieces such as reliquaries, objects of devotion, portraits, fashions and applied arts.

The fifth level is dedicated to the 20th century. Here the public can observe a dialogue between European and Mexican art. On this floor you can see works by Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros and Dr. Atl, as well as Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso.

On the sixth floor is the exhibition The Age of Rodin, with sculptures by the French Impressionist, considered the star of the collection.
